Credits
The current version of The City Church website was launched in September of 2009 as an iteration of the original design, from May 2006. The site was built using standards-compliant markup in order to ensure a more accurate rendering across multiple platforms and browser versions. (We recommend you use Firefox to browse the web.) Many thanks go to Jesse Bennett-Chamberlain of 31Three for the original design.
The Technology
This site is powered by ExpressionEngine, a flexible publishing and content management server-side application. (For more on ExpressionEngine, read this introduction.) The site was built using the following tools:
- Apple Computers
- Adobe Illustrator (for layout comping)
- Adobe Photoshop (for graphics and polishing)
- TextMate (for coding and development)
- CSSEdit (for tweaking stylesheets and testing)
- Transmit (for file transfer)
For a more detailed glimpse at how this site was built, check out the original wireframes and comps and how the audio archives were developed.
